Paul inspects every critical component, measures wear against known clearances, replaces what has reached its limit, and reassembles the engine to the same standard as a complete build. If your program has changed — different class, different power goal, different RPM range — those goals shape the refresh recommendations.

What's Included
Complete Inspection
Full teardown and visual inspection of every critical surface — bearings, journals, bores, valves, and valvetrain — before any recommendation is made.
Component Evaluation
Each part is measured against original build clearances and current wear limits. What is still in spec stays. What is not gets called out plainly.
Bearing Replacement
Main and rod bearings replaced as required, with clearances verified on the same equipment used for complete builds.
Spring Analysis
Valve spring pressures and installed heights checked against camshaft requirements. Tired springs are replaced before they cost a valve.
Refresh Recommendations
You get a clear list of what needs work now, what can wait, and what should change if the program or power target has shifted.
Reassembly
Reassembled by Paul with the same measurement discipline as a fresh build. Documented clearances. No guesswork.
Why It Matters
A refresh only works if the inspection is real
Racing engines do not wear evenly. One bearing can be at the edge of its clearance while another looks fine. Valve springs can lose pressure long before a failure shows up on the belt-sheet. A refresh that skips measurement is just hope with a parts invoice attached.
Paul starts with disassembly and inspection because that is the only way to know what the engine actually needs. Components are evaluated against the clearances from the original build and against current service limits. Replacement decisions are driven by numbers, not by a calendar.
